MISSION STATEMENT
Throughout life, one is bound to encounter times of tears and times of joy. Everyone has days like that and often times, we want someone to share them with. As a sister of Upsilon Kappa Delta, we can always count on finding someone who will stick by our side through thick and thin. By the same token, a sister must dedicate her heart and her soul to our letters and the values for which those letters stand.
We also try to educate others and ourselves in the community by emphasizing awareness of issues that concern the community. By offering our services in an effort to help make the community better, we create a better one.
Another important part of life we deal with is being social. There are many social events we involve ourselves in that help us to become well-rounded individuals and enjoy time together as sisters, while creating lasting memories.
We, the ladies of Upsilon Kappa Delta, feel that all of these characteristics combined will allow our sisters to have the promising futures each and every one of us deserves.

December 10th, 1993
Upsilon Kappa Delta was originally founded at Chico State University.

OUR PILLARS
ACADEMICS
It is the reason we came together, and it is the reason we continue to thrive as we do. The pursuit of higher education is essential to life as a Sister of ΥΚΔ. If it were not for the university, none of us would be the Lovely Ladies we are today. So it is only fitting that we do everything we can to ensure all Sisters have the resources they need to lead a successful academic career. Each Chapter uses various tools to promote the importance of Academics within its active body. A few examples include Study Hours, Rewards Programs, Workshops and Scholarships. Before we can take care of others we need to take care of ourselves.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
One thing ΥΚΔ never forgets about is the community and the never ending needs for improvement and help. ΥΚΔ believes that in order to grow one must be willing to walk in the shoes of others and help those who may not be as fortunate. Our community service endeavors are used as stepping stones in becoming better leaders and well rounded ladies.
SISTERHOOD
The most precious truth about ΥΚΔ is our motto: “A Sisterhood 2 Tight 2 Break,” and this is what sets us apart from the rest. We won’t paint you a perfect picture, or say that things are all-good, all the time. We will tell you however, the relationships you will develop with your Sisters will define the relationships you have in other parts of your life. Yes, our process is not easy, however, the real challenge is being a Sister. We have hills and valleys just like everyone else, but what truly defines ΥΚΔ is how we deal with those obstacles. We never give up! It is through this persistence to continually improve that we develop an undying admiration, respect, and most importantly love for our Letters and for every Sister who has earned the right to wear them.
